Destination Wedding Photographers
Beautiful, natural wedding photography for couples getting married abroad who want the day to feel like a wedding, not a photoshoot.
If you’re planning a wedding in Italy, France, Spain, Ireland, Cyprus, Ibiza, or somewhere else entirely, and you care about photos that feel honest, emotional, and full of atmosphere, you’re in the right place. I photograph destination weddings in a relaxed, documentary way, with just enough direction when it’s actually helpful, and none of the awkwardness.

A destination wedding photographer who keeps things natural
Getting married abroad usually means you care just as much about the experience as the location. You want your people there, you want the atmosphere to feel right, and you want photographs that take you straight back into it. Not a gallery full of stiff poses or images that could belong to anyone.
Most couples who enquire with me are not looking for a big performance. They want to enjoy the place they chose, spend time with their guests, and come away with photos that feel elegant, real, and full of character. That is exactly how I approach destination weddings.
I work in a documentary led way for most of the day, quietly paying attention to what matters and stepping in only when it adds something. So yes, I’ll help when needed. I’ll keep portraits quick, relaxed, and natural. But the heart of your gallery will always be the people, the feeling, the setting, and all the little things that made your wedding yours.
Why couples book me for weddings abroad
There are a lot of destination wedding photographers out there, so the important thing is not just finding someone who can travel. It’s finding someone whose work already feels like what you want your day to feel like.
Couples book me because they want:
- Natural wedding photography that does not feel forced
- A calm presence who helps the day flow rather than interrupting it
- Candid images with shape, beauty, and intention
- A photographer with real experience shooting abroad in different light, weather, venues, and cultures
- Someone who understands that the setting matters, but the people matter more
If that sounds like you, you’ll probably also like my approach to candid wedding photography and the slightly refined edge I bring to editorial wedding photography.
Real destination wedding experience
I’ve photographed weddings and shoots in some incredible places, and that experience matters. Not because it sounds impressive, but because weddings abroad come with their own rhythm. Different light. Different heat. Different timings. Different ways venues run. Different travel logistics. Different expectations.
That experience helps me stay flexible and calm while still creating strong, thoughtful images.
Some of the places I’ve photographed or worked in include Tuscany, Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Sicily, the French Riviera, the south of France, Barcelona, Ibiza, Cyprus, Ireland, Kenya, and the Dolomites. You can explore some of that work here:
Popular destinations I photograph
Italy
Italy is one of the most popular places in the world to get married abroad, and for good reason. You’ve got lakes, villas, olive groves, old towns, coastal views, mountains, and some of the best food and light going. I’ve photographed weddings in Italy and spent a lot of time there, so whether you’re planning Lake Como, Tuscany, Sicily, Sorrento, or the Dolomites, I already understand the pace and feel of weddings there. If Italy is where you’re heading, have a look at my Italy Wedding Photographer page.
France
France can feel elegant, laid back, outdoorsy, editorial, or all of those at once depending on where you get married. From the Riviera to vineyard estates and chateau weddings, it’s one of the best places in Europe for couples who want a destination wedding with style and substance. If you’re planning a French wedding, these pages may help: Wedding Venues France, Destination Couple Shoot France, and Nice Pre Wedding Photo Shoot.
Spain
Spain works brilliantly for destination weddings because it gives you so much choice. City weddings, countryside venues, beach clubs, villa weekends, and islands like Ibiza or Mallorca that feel instantly like an escape. I love how weddings there can feel stylish without losing that warm, social energy. If Ibiza is on your radar, have a look at my Ibiza Wedding Photographer page too.
Ireland
Ireland is one of the best places to get married if you want atmosphere, great people, and venues with loads of character. It may not be the obvious hot weather destination, but visually and emotionally it has so much going for it. My Ireland Wedding Photographer page is a good place to start if that’s on your shortlist.
Cyprus and Greece
Cyprus and Greece both make loads of sense for weddings abroad. Great weather, easy travel for guests, and a proper sense of occasion the minute everyone arrives. Cyprus is especially close to me because I lived there for four years, so I know the island well and understand both the practical side and the atmosphere it offers for weddings.
How I work on a destination wedding day
My job is not to take over your day. It’s to understand it properly, blend into it, and make photographs that feel true to it.
That means I’m always paying attention to:
- The atmosphere of the place you chose
- The way your guests are interacting
- The anticipation before the ceremony
- The emotion during hugs, speeches, and quieter moments
- The in between stuff that ends up meaning the most later
When it comes to portraits, I keep them short, natural, and unfussy. I’m not into dragging you away from your wedding for ages or making you do things that don’t feel like you. I want you to actually enjoy being there, and your photos should come out of that.

Travel, planning, and logistics
One of the big worries with booking a wedding photographer from home for a wedding abroad is whether travel is going to feel stressful or complicated. I make that part easy.
I handle my own travel plans, build in enough time around flights, and aim to arrive early so there is breathing room around the wedding. I’m used to working abroad, I’m fully insured, and I can provide documents if your venue or planner needs them.
If your wedding is somewhere I have not photographed before, that does not worry me in the slightest. Experience matters, but what matters even more is being able to read light, adapt quickly, stay calm, and tell the story in front of you. That’s what I do.

Hiring a destination wedding photographer
How much does a destination wedding photographer cost?
I keep things simple and transparent. I offer destination wedding coverage with one clear fee rather than piling on hidden extras. If you get in touch, I’ll send over everything properly so you can see exactly what’s included.
How do we book you?
Once we’ve had a chat and it feels like the right fit, I’ll send over my booking form and details to secure the date. A booking fee confirms everything, and the remaining balance is then due closer to the wedding.
Do you travel internationally for weddings?
Yes, absolutely. Most of my destination wedding work is in Europe because it’s easy to access from the UK, but I’m happy to travel further afield too.
Are you insured for destination weddings?
Yes. I’m fully insured and can provide documentation if your venue or planner needs it.
Do you help with timelines?
Yes. Once you’re booked, I’m happy to help shape a photography friendly timeline so the day flows well and you still get the photos you care about without it feeling over-structured.
When do we receive our wedding photos?
Your full gallery is delivered online, beautifully edited and easy to download and share. I always aim to get sneak peeks over to you as soon as I can, with full galleries usually following within my normal delivery window.
If you’re looking through destination wedding photographers and want someone who’ll photograph the day in a way that feels relaxed, thoughtful, and true to you, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
